A history of The White Rabbit
The White Rabbit is the first character Alice encounters in her adventure into Wonderland. Alice follows this rabbit into a hole where she falls down a deep chamber until she reaches the bottom safely. The White Rabbit always carrying a large gold watch always seems to be very nervous and in a hurry no matter where he goes hence his popular line "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!".Later on in the film the White Rabbit makes a late appearance during the introductory song of the Queen of Hearts by all of her cards. He is discovered to be the Herald in the Queen of Hearts court. The White Rabbit made his first appearance in the 1951 Disney film Alice in Wonderland. He was created by Charles Dodgson and voiced by Bill Thompson.

- Dean Liddell, Alice’s father was the inspiration behind the White Rabbit as he was always running late for church services- In a novel The Dark Knight Returns, Bruce Wayne (Batman) recalls chasing a white rabbit and falling down his rabbit hole. The White Rabbit is seen as a the guiding type of character, evidently not only in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
- The White Rabbit was used as a title of a popular song by the band Jefferson Airplane.
